I wanted you all to know about some great resources here in Decatur for information about our great little corner of the world.  Of course, we all know about the excellent shops and restaurants that we all frequent and love and need to continue to support in order to keep our community vital.....(including this writer's place of business...ahem!)  There are some great bloggers here that are doing wonders for our city.  They have been extremely kind enough to include my store in many entries, and thus I appreciate them.  Also, I enjoy the items they report on as it keeps me informed about goings on about town.  Check out the Decatur ELife (actually on online video magazine), Decatur Metro, Next Stop Decatur, Decatur Mom, and inDecatur.  There are others like ourdecatur, mydecatur, decaturnow, asiancajuns, etc.  All give great info.  When you have time, check them all out.  Decatur ELife, and Next Stop Decatur (which does a ton of historical type features about Decatur) are featuring Whit's End prominently, and I thank them!  Give them a read or watch......Thanks, Jeff]]> Spirit Wear is Here tag:blog.whitsenddecatur.com,2008-07-25:5d4d33f8-b9df-4677-9feb-178b518bd4a1 Whit's End Blog 2008-07-25T11:40:56Z 2008-07-25T11:20:00Z To the Great Whit's End Blog Readers,

Fleet Feet Sports is set to open in a few weeks, and I have been in communication with a possible tenant on the other side of me, where Intaglia was.  This isn't public info yet, but I can talk about it if you come in.  Also, I have spoken to the folks who are taking over the former Angel and have information on that, but can't post it publicly yet.

Well we got back from our South Dakota adventure, and had a great time.  It was nice to be missed at the store, as several notes on the door and messages on the voicemail told us that folks tried to come by.  Sorry for any inconveniece, we did our best to notify everyone.  It was really nice to get away, but we are stocked and geared up for Father's Day which is just a few shorts days away.

Until May 23rd we have many items on sale.  A few items will remain on sale after that.

On May 23rd we will be participating in 2 events that evening.  First, the monthly West Ponce Fab Fridays, and also the Decatur Art Walk.  Come in and enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages.  (i.e.----FREE WINE!), and store specials.  We are expecting our photographer to be here and we will highlight all the great pictures of Decatur he has taken.  We didn't get into the ArtWalk program on time, so we aren't listed as a participant, but we will donate a portion of the evenings proceeds to the Decatur Arts Alliance.  I will send an email out to our list mid month.

We will be closing 1/2 hour early on May 14, and 20.  Our apologies for any inconvenience.  Also, we will be on vacation May 25-30 and will be closed.  

Everyone will know sooner or later, so I thought everyone should be aware that our neighbor Intaglia is closing their Decatur store May 31.  We are hopeful for a great replacement soon.  They are combining their Amsterdam and Decatur shops into 1 at Ansley Mall.  We aren't happy about this, because it will look vacant down here until Fleet Feet gets going, and The Angel reopens.

Father's Day is fast approaching, and we are hopeful that Decatur is even better to us this year as last year.  We have everything you need for your Dad or husband with free parking, and you don't have to go to the mall!  You can afford to shop locally and comfortably at our store.

Welcome to our new blog.  Bear with us while we figure out how this works.  First of all, if you are looking at this page, thanks for checking it out.  If you've been in and have been a customer, much thanks for your patronage.  This blog will be the best place for quick updates to the site, new items in, early closures, store sales, events, etc, so check it when you can.

I believe you can comment on the blog, so please, please tell us what you like and/or (be kind) dislike about the store.  If you've been in, and haven't returned, we'd like to know why.  Or email us your input.  We can't change, if we don't know.

Last night, the Decatur Business Association and Q100 had a fashion show at the Old Courthouse on the Square.  We were a part of it and it was a great evening.  Perhaps you heard the store mentioned in the spots on Q100?  All the Decatur shops were there, and Decatur's best restaurants and bars donated food and drink.  Much thanks to them, and the models for helping out. 

I thought everyone would like to know that the new shop going in next to us will be Fleet Feet.  They will have running shoes, and apparel.  I am excited about this, as I think it will really complement our store.  We keep hearing that the Angel is reopening soon, and we hope so, it appears they are working over there.

I will be closing early on Wednesday April 30th, around 530-6p to go to my son's lacrosse game, which is outside the safety circle.
